Some photos from an evening of exploring when the tide was out.

We have sand but note the gloves.

Hello Matthew...
I stumbled across your blog as I am moving to Cambridge Bay in 4 weeks and am trying to learn as much as I can! I see that you are in Cape Dorset working for the Government of Nunavut. Can I ask what kind of work you do? I am a social worker but am going to be working as an Addiction Treatment Specialist.

I loved seeing your pics - what amazing landscape! I see you have a 4 wheeler... I am not sure if I am going to get one on not... Any possible tips? Words of wisdom for me?

Whoa! Cape Dorset seems to be a great place for adventures!

I enjoyed your photo, very well captured with strong powerful tones!

I work for community and government services as a project officer. Not as hard a job as working for social services.

If you are going to be in Nunavut for a long term it is recommended getting a snowmobile and an ATV. I have both and use them daily. (If there is snow on the ground. LOL) Get a snowmobile first if you can't afford both. Not much to do in the communities that isn't based around outdoor activities.

Don't pass up oppurtunities to be social with people and get a hobby. If you don't will you soon go shack wacky. (cabin fever).

A couple of blogs have FAQ sections to read through that will give you a good idea on living in the north. Check out Townie Bastard. He has a good one and Jen of Nunavut had one but she is living south again and the FAQ might be gone.

Hope this little bit helps. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Matthew.
