Water, Water, Water .....

Over the weekend I found out both water trucks in the community were broken down.  Thankfully I found out before laundry had been done.  Have been trying to conserve as much water as possible but we haven't had a delivery since last Thursday.  One truck is now running and is working 24-7 to try keeping up with the demand.  The photo below shows our tank in the house.  If you look towards the bottom were the strap is you should just see a line above it that shows how much water is left in the tank.  I figure there is a shower and a few flushes left before I'm out.

The two dark marks on the tank at the top left shows how much water is used when a load of laundry is done.  I think the two blue marks at the bottom shows the lowest level the water can be in order to suck it out of the tank.  I don't know for sure because the water has never been that low.

Here's hoping for water delivery in the next 24 hours.

Ouch! As a former Nunavut resident, I totally sympathize. Here in Alberta, we are still on a water and sewage tank so we still have to be careful with our water useage. Granted, the water tank is outside underground and is much bigger than any tank I had in Nunavut but the washing is stopped working a couple days ago.....and the laundry is starting to pile up......

Okay. You get snow, but you have to get water delivered? Does it rain?

I'm going to have to go Google "Nunavut" and find out the story. :)

ahahah Oh my goodness I don't miss that at all! Best perk of moving to Faro has been the piped water. All the water I want for only $50 a month!!!

We didn't find out about the lack of trucks till late on Saturday. I had been doing laundry all day and so had Kim on the other side of the duplex. Luckily we have a huge tank but by this morning it was getting extreme, Luckily again, the truck came this afternoon. Hopefully you'll see it tomorrow. Let me know if you need a shower!

Tropical Screamer – I will be answering your question in a blog post. Too long to post in the comments section.

Morena – Thanks for the offer but luckily my parental units live in town and apparently have water so I will sneak up there if I have too. A lot of folks got caught off guard by the water trucks breaking down. It should have been announced a lot sooner.

we were down to one truck for awhile in absolutely beautiful weather...all the workers went caribou hunting and left that 'one' truck sitting there. grrr.

It really sounds like a hassle to live up there. I didn't realise that the water delivery was such a problem. lol.
