Macro Toy

I finally broke down an purchased a Macro lens and have been pleasantly surprised. It is way easier to use the lens specifically for close ups than standing a couple of meters away and focus in with a telephoto lens. I may even give it a try for photographing the northern lights once I'm home. My first attempts with the lens are below.
Bit of a risky shot.
I did not partake but I liked the texture of the can.
I like the bugs.
This one didn't make it. It's the size of a pin head.
Floating debris.Night shot.
(Pun intended)

New Toy

I finally got a card reader so I could download my photos onto the laptop. Should be back to posting photos on a regular basis again.

We now have a new toy and it's a Honda 500 ATV. Fits me nice. Only got to go one one run before leaving on my travels and got very wet in the rain.
Isn't she perty.
Should have taken the camera bag and helmet off before taking the photo. I will post a couple of photos from the run in the future.

Zoom Zoom

*Update 2*
We may have spoken to soon. The Honda currently isn't running and the transmission is sticking. We've been stuck in reverse, and first twice. *sigh* The machine don't go "zoom zoom" or "put put" it just goes "cough cough". Just returned from being towed back from the park where the machine stranded Michele. Less than a day old. :o(

*original post*
Well maybe more like "put put" since our new toy is a Honda 250. It fits Michele okay but I look incredibly huge or the machine looks really small under me. We are planning to get another larger one but until then I'll use this to get back and forth from work. As you can see I've already got it dirty because we don't want anything that looks too new. I've never met a mud muddle I didn't like.

*update 1* - This is really clean compared to now.
This photo is the first time I've been able to get this effect to work. It's done by zooming out after hitting the shutter button.

Zoom Zoom

I drove a snow machine for the fist time in my life tonight.

Already figured out how to do donuts with it.

Yep...I had better purchase a helmet.

:o)

A Poofect Gift

When this Christmas went by I was disappointed that a gift wasn't under the tree from my niece Kaleigh because I was told she specifically picked it out for me and I had never received a gift from her before. I was very excited and curious to see it.

Well last night, after moving, a package came for my Dad and Michele. Once again nothing for me. :(. But wait......when Michele opens her package an item was inside it for me. The missing gift from Kaleigh!!

Earlier this week, as I was catching up on the blogs, I came across a post from Tales from the Arctic regarding a toy that poops candy called the Poo-Lar Bear. I smiled and thought that is the kind of thing I would like to have. Well, low and behold, that is the gift the Kaleigh got me. Lots of laughter and giggling as I made it poop out it's little candy.

It has been a rough week moving and the new house is in a mess with the unpacking. This is just what I needed. Thank you Kaleigh I am very touched.

No..Bad Poo-Lar Bear not on the TV.
(Even more giggling)

Yes we now own a snowmobile. I can now say I have sat on one and in a few months I can say that I have driven one. Michele is very excited about owning it. Could be some interesting post this winter. The snowmobile is a 2006 Expidition 550.

To Zen and Back

I dropped my Zen mp3 player today and it don't work no more. *sigh* The shinny surface on the screen is the plastic protective covering. I never took it off. The Zen does have a recovery mode that I will keep trying and if that doesn't work I will try formatting it. But I must face the music and accept the fact I may just have an expensive paper weight. *sigh*
